Pentagon is Using AI to Predict Events
Glen D. VanHerck, commander of North American Aerospace Defense Command, or NORAD told reporters in a briefing last week that they're using AI and machine learning to predict future events:
And I'm talking not minutes and hours -- I'm talking days.
The Pentagon hasn't given many specifics on what the Global Information Dominance Experiment (GIDE) entails, although it appears that the aim is to combine data with machine learning and other types of artificial intelligence to obtain enough of an informational advantage to enable a proactive approach.
We're taking sensors from around the globe, not only military sensors but commercially available information, and utilizing that for domain awareness.

Neuralink Raises $205 Million in Funding
Neuralink, another one of Elon Musk's company's focused on developing a brain-machine interface, announced this week that Alphabet's GV has joined in a $205 million Series C investment round. As the fund states:
The future will be shaped by advances in AI, robotics and hardware, quantum computing, food and agriculture, and deep tech. We support founders with the expertise and drive to tackle the major global issues that affect us all.
The funds raised will be used to bring Neuralink's first product to market as well as expedite future product R&D.
